Support the monastery’s window Project

Our building is very old. Parts of it go back to the 1850's. It’s in pretty good shape, but a number of things need our attention..

Most of our windows are old and decrepit. I’m sure you’re ‘experiencing the same reality as we are: it’s getting harder and harder to pay our gas and electricity bills each quarter. Replacing these old windows with modern efficiency ones will be well worth it in the mid to long terms. (it’s hard to give an exact amount in savings; but we know it will be in the thousands of dollars).

To achieve those goals, we need to invest now, with God’s help, and take out all 140 plus windows, installing new, energy efficient ones in their place. This will keep the monastery--at a much lower cost-- warmer and cooler as the seasons change. Our guests will enjoy a much more comfortable place to pray.

Another advantage of this windows replacement project is that it will fit our overall plan step towards sustainability and environmental stewardship, which aligns with our core values and commitment to preserving our planet for future generations.

By replacing the existing windows with energy-efficient ones, we can significantly reduce our carbon footprint, decrease energy consumption, and create a more comfortable living environment for our brotherhood , retreatants and extended community.

We have chosen a contractor’s bid to bring this project to completion at a cost of $150,000 Any amount you can spare would be a blessing, but a suggested donation is $1000 for a single window to be offered for your prayer intentions.
