Support our neighbours' little boy mauled by dogs

Hi, my name is Erin and I live in the Winter Valley Rise Estate in which a toddler was mauled by a dog on the 11th of September 2023.

It is understood that the boy was in his backyard when dog(s?) from the house next door had dug underneath and managed to get the boy and maul him, leaving him with extensive lower body injuries.

He was flown to Melbourne via air ambulance.

I do not know the family, nor know much more about this. What I do know is that a friend of the family has reached out to me, after writing on a Facebook post that I was going to start a GoFundMe. She has provided me with the families account to which all donations will be sent directly to.

This is a horrific accident that has shocked not only the Winter Valley Rise community, but all who have heard of the incident.

I do not claim to know more than I've written here, so please don't ask for details as I don't know, and don't wish to invade the family's privacy at this sensitive and heartbreaking time.

All I hope is that our Winter Valley community, as well as the broader Ballarat community, can dig deep to help this family out, even just a little bit.
