About Us
Established in 2002, the Bosnian Educational and Cultural Center of America (BECCA) is a non-profit in Illinois dedicated to fostering social, religious, and educational activities among Bosnian Muslims and Eastern European descendants in the Chicagoland area. Located in Chicago's West Rogers Park, our current facilities serve as a hub for worship, education, and community involvement.
With over 900 families from Bosnia and the broader Balkans, BECCA aims to unite and enrich the community through various programs. As our membership and activities grow, we're embarking on a project to create modern facilities spanning 30,000 square feet. This will include a prayer hall, classrooms, a gym, social areas, a museum, and offices, catering to diverse needs and promoting interfaith dialogue by opening the prayer hall and museum to Muslims and non-Muslims alike during designated hours.
Educational offerings will encompass Bosnian language, history, geography, and arts courses, alongside preschool and kindergarten programs. Additionally, our facilities will host lectures, celebratory events, and recreational activities to promote social cohesion and healthy lifestyles among our members. Join us in building a community center that embodies unity, knowledge, and compassion for generations to come.
