Help Us Find Our Beloved Brother and Son, Juan Antonio Merlos

On August 21st, our beloved brother and son, Juan Antonio Merlos, went missing. Juan, who also goes by John, is a 36-year-old former Marine who served in the Middle East. He was last seen in Anthony, TX after driving from Houston. Since then, our family has been living in a nightmare, desperately trying to find him and bring him home.

Juan suffers from PTSD, and our hearts are heavy with fear for his safety. Our family has already endured unimaginable pain. In July, we faced the tragic loss of our younger sister, Karen Belen. As we were grieving her loss, we were also facing the reality that our younger brother, Oscar, had Kidney cancer. Just this week, he had a kidney removed in the middle of our search for Juan. These back-to-back tragedies have shaken us to our core. We are doing our best to stay strong. We cannot rest until we find our Juan.

The police have told us there’s nothing more to do but wait, but as his family, we refuse to give up. We know there’s more we can do to find Juan, and waiting is not an option. We’ve found a private investigator, Aurelia Barajas, President of Superior Investigations in New Mexico. After vetting her and reading over 30 five-star reviews, we feel confident that she is the best option to help uncover what happened to Juan in Anthony, TX/NM.

But we cannot do this alone. We are asking for your help to fund six days of investigative services. This will allow someone to be on the ground, doing the difficult and detailed work necessary to find Juan. We need your support to make this happen.

He is our brother, our son, and our friend—a man who served his country and who has always been a source of love and strength for us.
