Support Our Stand for Kindness and Inclusivity

We’re reaching out to friends, neighbors, and supporters to help us raise $500 for a fine from our Homeowners’ Association. The fine was imposed because we refused to take down our simple "Human Kind" garden flag — a message of love, inclusivity, and community —outside our home. We are continuing to proudly display this flag because we believe in the message it represents: kindness, inclusivity, America, and community.

While we have the means to pay this fine, we feel it’s important to make a stand against what we believe is an unfair and excessive penalty.

The HOA’s recent bylaw change, which led to the fine, was made without gathering input from the community, and we feel that the lack of transparency in the process was disappointing. Keeping the flag up was a conscious choice to stand by what we believe in, and now we’re asking for a little support from our community to raise awareness about the importance of fairness, kindness, and the need for inclusive decision-making—especially during this very divisive political climate we’re in.

We appreciate any contribution to show that a simple message of kindness is worth defending. We will match all donated funds up to $1000 and provide a donation to the Cleveland LGBT Center to further support a cause that aligns with the message of "Human Kind."
