What could be MORE DEVASTATING than working your whole adult life to build a successful business, supporting your family, Silver sneaker program promoting health and wellness for seniors and a successful gym for everyone’s best life and health, to have the rug pulled out from under you after 22 years due to corporate greed? That is what is happening now and I am having to basically start over. I am hoping that by reaching out to our members who are also our friends, that we can work together to find a way to keep the gym operating and viable.

After being an exemplary tenant for years, the ownership of the property has changed to a large corporation in Texas that has no interest in people only profits, so I have no leverage. The landlords are basically shutting down our business as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic, which forced gyms in NC and all over the country to close for months. I worked tirelessly during that period to maintain my employees and the gym with no income coming in.

• We support over 2000 seniors in the Durham community through the Silver Sneakers program promoting health, fitness and nutrition

. We are the Home of several veterans program, making sure those that those that fought for our freedom receive the support they need for good health and wellness back here at home.

• The “corporate” landlords are forcing us out after demanding payment of months of back rent during the COVID shutdown when no income was coming in. This is not only unfair, but unrealistic and unsustainable.

We are asking at this time for the financial support we need to keep the doors open, to move to a new and better location in Durham and to continue to provide all the wonderful services we have been providing for years. This will require funds to relocate, to renovate and to pay for all the legal fees that were accrued as we have tried to fight this unfairness and inequity for the past few months. We tried to come to a reasonable compromise with the landlords but they were not interested in anything but their bottom line. This costs thousands in legal fees.

Please help us by donating to help us raise the money we need to rebuild. It seems like an overwhelming need and goal, but all money will be used to bring Millennium Sports Club back into operation. We will be better than before and I can’t wait to work with all of you again very soon. All donations are very much appreciated and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the support you have given Millennium over the years and hopefully the support you can give to us now in our greatest time of need.
