Ozzy's Eye Surgery
Donation protected
This is Ozzy, a 3yr old Husky mix who was rescued by a client of mine, Pastor Colten, over 2 years ago. Ozzy absolutely thrives around dogs; however, he was very cautious of humans when Colten rescued him. Over the past 2 years, Ozzy has flourished, coming out of his shell, trusting people, especially children, as Colten has opened his home to multiple foster kids. You can see the smile and joy Ozzy has in life with the picture on the left.
Almost a month ago, Ozzy developed SARDS (Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration System) - where he is now permanently and totally blind. Ozzy is having mobility and confidence issues and is showing signs of depression. After much discussion, his owner and I discussed the option of adding another rescue to his home to help Ozzy with mobility and enjoy life again. We found Ozzy's match - Skyler - a 1yr old cattle dog mix rescue! Colten has opened his home up to this sweet girl who's currently in training to help become Ozzy's new eyes on walks as well as reteach him how to play with dogs without his vision.
While Skyler has spent the last week adjusting to her new home with Ozzy and Colten, Ozzy had another emergency on tonight on 8‐23-2024, where one of his eyes ruptured. After an emergency vet visit, Ozzy is scheduled for surgery to get both eyes removed on Monday 8-26-2024, where the total cost will be around $1,000.
If anyone is interested in helping with Ozzy's surgery bill, please share and/or donate. Thank you everyone!
