Support Paisley's Recovery Journey

When someone in our village is in need we rally to help. Below is a recent post from Paisley’s Mom, Kara. As a community we can help ease the financial stress (gas/food etc) while the family focuses on Paisley’s healing.

First off I want to thank you all for the prayers, calls, texts, and visits thus far. I know a lot of people aren’t aware as to why Paisley is at Brenners so I wanted to put everything in one place and an update as of 10:45 this morning.

Tuesday, October 22nd I had picked the girls up from school and was hit head on by a sweet UCA student that didn’t see us on Hwy 134. Ansleigh and I were beat up pretty bad by the air bags and seat belts; paisley mainly the seatbelt and bit a portion of her tongue so she looked great other than her poor mouth bleeding and being shaken up. What we did not realize is all the internal damage to her spleen, liver, pancreas, and colon. Ansleigh and I were able to be transported by EMS with pais to Cone. We all had xrays and ct scans but knew quickly Pais was in way worse shape than we could have imagined. So she was transported to Brenners where we will remain weeks to months depending on mainly her pancreas. We did find out at 11 last night her left lung was being pushed to the center of her chest and chest full of free fluid. She had surgery this morning and is in recovery to remove fluid and drain tube placed to continue to remove more fluid from her chest cavity. Poor baby hasn’t been able to eat since lunch Tuesday at 1 and can’t receive oral nutrition due to the injury to her pancreas. Last night they started her on TPN which she will continue for the foreseeable future. She does have a central line in which is going to help tremendously since we are out of good veins.
