22.10.24- Berlin Legal Fund becomes 3ezwa!

Dear Friends and Comrades,

As the saying goes, all good things must come to an end, but this closing chapter paves the way for something even greater: our new association, 3EZWA!

Thanks to your generous support, the Berlin Legal Fund has evolved into a nationwide initiative dedicated to providing financial and legal assistance to those facing repression for their commitment to the Palestinian cause.

3ezwa is founded by a coalition of activists and organizations unified by solidarity with the people of Palestine. And thus we are committed to ensuring that the proceeds from this GoFundMe campaign are distributed to those directly involved in this vital work.

As of now, we have raised €91,305.00 through GoFundMe.

We value transparency and would like to share a full breakdown of where the funds will go:
GoFundMe Fees €3,096.88
3ezwa €19,500
ELSC €19,500
KOP Berlin €19,500
NUR Projects €19,500
Palästina Kampagne €10,208.12 + all future donations

Each organization listed above will utilize these funds to advance the goals of 3ezwa, leveraging their unique expertise and resources. NUR Projects, for instance, is a GmbH that sells screen-printed Palestine merchandise, with all profits donated into the structure of 3ezwa.

3ezwa’s goals:
  • Raise funds to strengthen existing legal support structures in Germany
  • Streamline the process of getting legal support
  • Provide free and easy-to-access advice in three languages
  • Cover at least 50% of fines and legal fees for criminal offenses and residency law procedures incurred through solidarity with Palestine

The Berlin Legal Fund will remain open for a few more weeks. We are incredibly grateful for your support and hope you will continue to stand with us by becoming a member of this new association.

You can fill out the membership form here.

From the courts to the streets,
Palestine will be free!

Love,
Matta and Nomi

13-09-2024- Berlin’s Palestine Solidarity Movement: A Collective and Long-Term Fight!

Dear supporters of the Berlin Legal fund,

We want to thank you once again for your overwhelming support in the past months!
Both the individual donations and the many creative projects that started in support have our deepest gratitude.

With the 85 thousand euros we have gathered, the Berlin Legal Fund team has already supported many people in the payment of their fines and legal fees.

Click here to find out how to receive the help.

The latest numbers state that more than 5,5 thousand criminal charges have been filed in Berlin alone. There remains a lot of work to be done!

Although the police and German state might think we are weak and unorganised, they could not be more wrong.
Soon the Berlin Legal Fund gofundme will close… In it’s place something stronger, more official and efficient will be born from it.

We will be announcing more details on this and update you very soon!

Our dream is to do the impossible, and reach 100k before the Berlin Legal Fund becomes official.
Any support you can offer us would be truly amazing!

Keep fighting and fuck Germany!

Love,
Matta and Nomi

10.05.2024 - Berlin’s Palestine Solidarity Movement: A Collective and Long-Term Fight!

Thank you all so much, we see you!!

Because of you we recently reached our initial 50K goal.

Your help, small and big, is what is keeps the movement on the streets, motivated, with our heads held high as we know you have our backs. Thank you for that.

That being said it is clear to most of you that 50k is not enough to help everyone.

By the 30th of January the Berlin police had already (falsely) accumulated more than 2140 criminal cases. If we add all the misdemeanours, and the many more months that have followed, we are facing a huge and still unknown number.

Therefore we adjust the Gofundme goal to 100.000K

We will be in this for a little while longer and we so deeply appreciate all your long-term support <3

Love,
Power,
Gratitude.

29.01.2024 - Berlin’s Palestine Solidarity Movement: A Collective and Long-Term Fight!

We hereby give you an update:

In the past 4 months the movement has grown and we have managed to show great solidarity on the streets of Berlin. Amongst other things we have pushed back the outright ban to protest and fought the IHRA clause for cultural funding.

Nevertheless, due to the racist legislation that is being pushed across the political spectrum, thousands of arrests have taken place in Berlin alone, and many of us are facing serious financial and legal hardship. We remain to be physically assaulted, charged with hate speech and wrongfully framed for police assault.

Within this harsh and unconstitutional climate great solace is found in the amazing individuals and organizations that offer legal advice and support:

50% of this fund goes to the ELSC and 50% to Palästina Kampagne. The organizers of this gofundme and Palästina Kampagne have decided that Palästina Kampagne will work in collaboration with Rote Hilfe to disburse funds directly to people in need of financial support for paying fines. Click here for a full overview of this collaborative effort.

This money is solely used in support of people experiencing police repression in connection with Palestine solidarity in Berlin, and supports the initiatives stated above in:
  • Offering a warm welcome to the movement
  • Offering free legal advice
  • Monitoring all forms of anti-Palestinian racism
  • Taking legal action against repressive laws or policies and defending key elements of the movement such as “from the river to the sea”
  • Offering financial support to people facing hardship as a result of fines for legitimate protest in solidarity with Palestine

This is a collective and long-term fight!

We therefore kindly ask you to consider another donation or perhaps to dedicate the profit of a project to our cause, as has been initiated by:

Only with your help we are hopefully able to support every single individual in need!

17.10.2023------------------------------------------------------------
In the past days you have witnessed the ongoing oppression against your friends, your neighbors and everybody that is speaking up for freedom of speech. What we see on the streets is both heartbreaking and beautiful as people show an enormous drive to stand up for the people of Palestine and our basic democratic rights to show solidarity.

We have been chased, assaulted and arrested multiple times throughout these days.
The arrests are followed by, - in the best-case scenario - fines, and in the worst-case scenario serious consequences for people's residencies, refugee statuses and jobs.

We clearly stand against this brutality and injustice. We will do everything to fight for our right to exist and to support the people, who like us, face legal and societal consequences in the light of German police and state oppression.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We understand that not everyone is in a position to physically counter these atrocities. Therefore we urge you to show your solidarity in other ways.

With this Gofundme we ask you to donate money to relieve the financial burdens of fines and legal fees of the oppressed and thereby support general freedom of speech in Europe.
This donation will be gathered under our supervision and equally redistributed among the ELSC and Palästina Kampagne (formerly: Nakba75). We will provide proof and receipts.

The ELSC is an Amsterdam-based organization that defends and empowers advocates for Palestinian rights across mainland Europe and the United Kingdom through legal means.

Palästina Kampagne is a campaign fighting for the Palestinian voice and freedom of speech in Germany. Their financial support will manifest in the direct payment of fines to the ones affected by the German state repression.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

From the bottom of our hearts <3
