Support Paolo Conta and Friends on Their Moab 240 Journey

Hi, my name is Paolo Conta. In October 2025, I’ll be attempting the Moab 240, a grueling 240 mile ultramarathon through Utah’s rugged terrain. This race is more of an adventure than a race, with over 30,000 feet of elevation gain and a 117 hour cutoff time. I’m not doing this alone, my amazing team of friends who I grew up with in Southern California, will be supporting me every step of the way. Even though we are now spread out across different colleges, this challenge brings us back together. Taking on the Moab 240 is our way of staying connected, pushing ourselves, and proving that we can accomplish something extraordinary as a team.
Our crew is made up of lifelong friends who came together in high school and each bring something unique to this journey. Logan Rome, one of my closest friends, is studying Communication at the University of Colorado Boulder. He is an up and coming runner with marathon distance experience and will be pacing me through some of the most challenging sections of the race. Tomas Arango, a Mechanical Engineering student at Saddleback College, is the problem solver of the group and our go to for capturing the journey on camera. He’ll also be pacing me for up to 60 miles, using his calm mindset to keep me moving forward. Chris Connor, our injury prevention expert, is studying kinesiology at Chico State University. His knowledge of sports medicine keeps us safe and healthy, while his positive attitude motivates the whole team. Alex Zive, the logistics mastermind, is studying entrepreneurship at Chico State. He’s the practical thinker who keeps us organized and ensures we’re prepared for every challenge on race day. Together, we’re tackling this challenge as a team.
The Moab 240 is one of the most dangerous ultramarathons in the world, not only because of the distance but because of the brutal conditions. We’ll be facing extreme heat during the day, freezing temperatures at night, and the physical and mental strain of running for multiple days with minimal sleep. These factors increase the risk of dehydration, altitude sickness, injury, and even getting lost in the remote terrain. To take on this challenge safely, we are planning for every possible risk, such as training at altitude, preparing for sleep deprivation, testing gear, and studying the course thoroughly. This level of preparation takes time, effort, and resources, and every member of our team is committed to making it happen.
That’s why we need your help. Your donations will go directly toward race entry fees, safety equipment, nutrition and hydration supplies, travel expenses, and the gear needed to stay safe and perform at our best. We’re doing everything we can to be as prepared as possible, but the financial aspect is significant. Any contribution, whether it’s a donation or just sharing this page, would mean the world to us. Your support helps fuel our journey and keeps us moving toward the finish line of Moab 240!
