Support parents of trans children

In the UK, young transgender people are being separated from their supportive families, indefinitely, through the family court system.

For the parents challenging and appealing these decisions, the legal costs and fees are incredibly high, and way beyond their means to provide.

Some of the parents in these cases have to face court without even having legal representation, when they look for legal support they face barriers to access legal aid, experienced over years of application.

We have started this crowdfunder to provide funding for families separated because they've openly supported their trans child.

By providing financial support we will assist them to fund their legal fees to fight these decisions in court.

The parents involved are unable to speak about this publicly due to gagging orders, which is why we are putting this gofundme up for them in order to support them. We will do our best to give you any updates we can and what your support is going to help fund.

There are currently 3 families that need to challenge such orders in the UK right now. They are desperate to be reunited with each other. One has sold their family house to raise the money to get back custody of their child. This particular mother needs to raise an initial £25k before mid-December 2020. 

Having your child at home shouldn’t mean you have to sell the roof above your head.

The aim is to collectively create a ways to alleviate some of that pressure through donations, showing solidarity with these families. Connection with each other to get through these battles is crucial.
