Support Pastor David Bales' Road to Recovery

Donation protected
On Saturday, July 6th Tombstone Cowboy Church Pastor, David Bales & his granddaughter were taking a scenic motorcycle ride to see the neighboring town of Gleeson when, on the way back home, a deer jumped out in front of them which caused a major accident… Dave was taken by helicopter to a Tucson hospital and his granddaughter by ambulance to Banner Children's Hospital.

His granddaughter has since been released from the hospital and is able to be at home recovering from her injuries. However, David remains in a Tucson hospital in the Trauma ICU with more serious injuries. The injuries sustained by Pastor Dave are substantial… David has had 3 surgeries since being in the hospital to repair broken bones. He has a long road to recovery and will have to remain in Tucson, which is far away from his home.

Not only is David Bales a Pastor, he also runs a small business in our little town of Tombstone… Because of the accident, he is unable to continue his passion for woodworking and is unable to bring in any sort of income, leaving his wife on her own with the medical bills increasing with no end in sight.

As we now understand the extensive road to recovery this is going to be, we are trying to help in any way possible to alleviate the stress of this financial burden that it is going to place on the Bales family. If you know Dave, you will know he has a big heart, and is always willing to help anyone in need. Over the years he has been a part of many local activities among other things, sitting on committees, youth groups, movie nights, Toy Drives, Santa in the Park, and food trains for others in need… Since he will be unable to work for the foreseeable future, we are reaching out to the community which Dave loves so much, to invite you or someone you know (by sharing), to help support Dave and his family during this incredibly difficult time.

We’ve had countless people ask how they can help and as much as we didn’t want to revert to this, we have now come to understand that it is crucial for Dave’s recovery back to as normal of a life as he can achieve. The heartfelt prayers, love, and support have been an enormous blessing for the road he’s on. We appreciate every single one of you. All funds raised will go directly to the family to help with financials, medical bills, aftercare, and anything else. Our goal is to take as much financial stress off them as possible as this tragedy alone has changed their lives completely. Thank you all for everything you’ve done. We appreciate you more than you will ever know. If you, or anyone you know, can donate to their needs right now, we would be eternally grateful for your support.

ADDENDUM - After 2 weeks, 3 surgeries, a bout of pneumonia and some other complications, Pastor Dave is finally been upgraded to the point where he is now able to receive some rehabilitation…There’s still quite a bit of pain associated with the broken bones and the large amount of road rash but this is a wonderful update!!!! Thank you for the continued prayers and support.
UPDATE: As you have heard Melody and her grandpa Pastor David Bales were
in a horrific motercycle accident when a deer jumped in from of the motorcycle they were riding. Although Melody didn’t have a have a long hospital stay she now has to go through 1 surgery and maybe 2, to fix her foot and elbow… far from home all the way up at the Phoenix Children’s Orthopedics ... She will also have physical therapy appointments therapy in Tucson as well.

Melody is a a fixture at the Tombstone Cowboy Church so and these past few weeks, her family has been touched by all of the prayers, love, and support. At this point some support, to help get Melody what she needs and to help her parents thru the surgeries and travel expenses some funds are needed…All funds raised will go directly to the family to help with financials, medical bills and aftercare. Our goal is to fill the gaps that other sources cannot…

Normally Grandpa Dave and Gigi Donna Bales would step in to help, but right now they are focused and struggling to get Dave thru his trauma and back on his feet…so they have revised the $25,000 to $27,500 to include $2500 to help that portion. Please designate a “help4Melody” to your donation in a comment …. You can also donate gas cards or drop a check at the Longhorn Restaurant at 501 E. Allen St in Tombstone…

If you, or anyone you know, can donate to their needs right now, we would be eternally grateful for your support.
