Many of you have been following the story of Jay Chambers, Pastor Jay to a lot of you, over the past several weeks and his near death battle with COVID-19.
For those that have not, the short version is this:
In early April 2021, Jay and his wife Pamela both contracted the COVID virus, and after several days Jay began to experience difficulty breathing and heart problems. He was rushed to the Gaylord, MI Emergency Room and after some blood work they determined he had sustained a heart attack.
Jay was immediately flown via helicopter to Ascension St. Mary's hospital in Saginaw, MI where he was admitted to the ER and put on oxygen and multiple medicines to treat him for his COVID and heart problems as well as pneumonia.
He was treated for 3 days but the pneumonia and his breathing/oxygen levels did not improve in fact they grew much worse, which was particularly worrisome given all the treatment he was receiving. The last resort was to put him on a ventilator, fully paralyzed and sedated. The Doctors and nurses were not hopeful for his recovery. However, after much prayer and support from hundreds of friends and family, the next day, Jay showed the first signs of improvement since the beginning of his battle. Over the next week he progressed from his literal death bed, to being taken out of sedation and off the ventilator, to being prepared for his release April 21.
We are incredibly thankful to God for his miraculous healing and recovery, we are also immensely grateful to all of those who have prayed for him and the medical professionals and care givers, and all of those who have loved our family so well through all of this.
There of course will be a tremendous amount of financial burden to Jay and Pamela due to all of his various treatments and care.
Jay has dedicated his life to serving others, as a Pastor and Counselor; Pamela has done the same as a nurse, their dedication has led to impacting literally thousands of lives over the years.
Many have asked how they can help, and this is absolutely the most tangible way to give back to and show love to Jay and Pamela. Relieving them of the financial burden of these mounting medical bills will not only do the obvious work of keeping them from acquiring unmanageable debt at a senior age, but also show them how much they and their family are loved by people all across the country.
We would also ask that you continue to pray for Jay's full recovery as he returns home for Physical Therapy and complete restoration of health.
