Support Pat Moody's Mission for Youth

Donation protected

We are a community... a collection of friends and family... supporting Pat Moody and all the things he so generously and vigorously supports in his life. The Moody Foundation is a non-profit 501c3 with the goal of continuous support for the Windham community, especially in areas of youth sports and activities, as well as providing scholarships for deserving, community-focused student-athletes.

Most of the people who see this will probably know Pat Moody... it feels like everyone does. Most likely, you also consider Pat one of your best friends, because he treats people in such a special way that everyone feels that closeness and connection to him.

Pat has spent his entire life dedicated to improving his community and supporting the surrounding communities, especially in the areas of youth sports, specifically basketball, but also other activities and projects. He has chaired committees, presided over organizations, and spearheaded efforts to make sure that kids of all ages have access to positive activities and a safe and awesome place to do them. Pat was the president of the Windham Youth Basketball Association for over a decade, growing it into the largest youth basketball organization in the state. He gave freely his time and energy to make sure kids of all ages felt included and had FUN!

He worked for years to make the new outdoor courts in Windham, that were recently dedicated to him, a reality. And prior to that he built the Moody Basketball Barn at his house, and invited literally everyone in to use it whenever they wanted because Windham didn't have a community center where kids could go play. He is as responsible for the first Gold Ball in Windham High School history as anyone!

Speaking of the Community Center, Pat has worked for years to try to make that a reality, participating on committees, doing legwork and bringing a common-sense approach to make the project feasible. While the current version of the project isn't the vision Pat had, the hundreds of hours he poured into making a community center a reality were a passion project.
Pat also started the annual Sonic 3-on-3 Tournament, in memory of Dan "Sonic" Giguere, a former teammate of Pat's at WHS, and it became a huge event, drawing dozens of coed teams across multiple age divisions.

Pat was Uber and Lyft before such companies existed... basically, if your kid needed a ride somewhere, they could hop in with him and the rest of the bus-full of kids he was chauffeuring about.

Pat led cleanup efforts of the Manchester School courts and put up new rims and backboards at the Riverton School Courts.

He started the Windham Fall League. He has supported and volunteered endlessly with the XLP AAU organization giving "scholarships" to dozens of players who otherwise couldn't afford it, so they could follow their dreams and have a safe and positive way to spend their time.

Pat has been Grand Marshall of Windham's Summer Fest. He has organized all of his Class of '94 reunions and activities. He has led safety courses through his position at AAA and donned the Buckle-Up Bear costume for countless birthday parties to make little kids smile and laugh. He's helped dozens of kids practice for their driver's tests and prepared them to succeed, even though they didn't do their driver's ed through his AAA course, just to make sure our kids and streets were safe. He's opened up his house to foreign exchange students for years and kids in need for extended stays.

Now, cancer is attempting to rob Pat of his energy and health. So, while he concentrates on doing everything he can to get better, the Moody Foundation is being organized to carry on supporting and expanding on all the things Pat is so passionate about in his community of Windham and the surrounding communities.

We're here for you, Pat... and we love you!
