Stand with Pat! Embrace Hope and Triumph Over Leukemia

Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Compassionate Strangers,

In October 2023, Pat Muhammad's world was shattered by a devastating diagnosis. A routine doctor's visit unveiled abnormally high white blood cells, leading to a series of tests that confirmed her worst fears: leukemia, a type of cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow, had invaded her body. Immediate chemotherapy followed by a bone marrow transplant became her only hope. Despite the fear and uncertainty, Pat faced this battle with unwavering hope and determination.

On March 22nd of this year, Pat completed a grueling 12-week chemotherapy treatment.

Just as she was preparing for the critical bone marrow transplant, life threw another cruel curveball. In late March, she was hospitalized for nine days with a severe respiratory virus. Her doctor advised her not to return to work, forcing Pat to spend April and May focusing solely on recovery. The financial strain has been overwhelming.

As a Permanent Substitute Teacher at a local high school, missing workdays resulted in significant income loss, adding to the emotional and physical toll of her medical journey. Now, she faces the harsh reality of being unable to work, with no family in the area and only a few friends to count on for support.

Pat is now on her last few pennies. She must move out of her townhouse and has no income. A sister-in-law has offered her a place to stay while she prepares for her bone marrow transplant, which will take place over an hour away. Pat does not drive and has no family in the area, these will be expensive Uber rides as she prepares for her transplant. This procedure will require her to be in isolation for three long months. Despite these dire circumstances, Pat's faith and positive spirit have been her guiding lights. But she cannot do this alone.

We are reaching out to the kindness and generosity of friends, family, and compassionate strangers to help Pat maintain her dignity and continue her battle against leukemia. Here's how your support will make a difference:

Transportation: Covering the cost of an Uber for her treatments, ensuring she can receive the life-saving care she needs.

Living Expenses: Providing stability and peace of mind as she recovers, helping her manage day-to-day expenses.

Medical Bills: Easing the financial burden of ongoing treatments and medications.

Every donation, prayer, and act of kindness brings light to Pat's darkest days and helps her move forward with hope. Your support means the world to her and fuels her fight against this illness.

Thank you for standing with Pat, and for your prayers, gifts, and donations.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Her friend, Annette Whittington,
