Support Paul and Jacks: A New Start

In September, Hurricane Helena unleashed its fury on Asheville, and my life was profoundly impacted. I woke up to a catastrophic scene: a tree had crashed through my roof, and both of my vehicles were crushed. While my truck was technically repairable, the financial burden, coupled with only basic insurance coverage, ultimately led to its demise due to frame damage.

This disaster set off a devastating chain of events. I lost a promising job at BorgWarner and am now struggling to stay afloat with a part-time night job. What’s worse, my storage unit in the River Arts district, containing All my Airbnb remodeling equipment and supplies, for the business and LLC that I just formed in August to launch here in Asheville was destroyed by floodwaters. My attempt to secure a small business loan failed due to my credit history and lack of established tax records, and my insurance didn't cover flood losses.

I had moved to Asheville the summer prior to the Hurricane, with high hopes. Now I'm facing near-eviction and a shattered sense of stability. Yet, Asheville is my home, and I'm determined to rebuild. My goal isn't to receive handouts; it's to regain my footing so I can contribute to this community.

Currently, my most pressing need is reliable transportation. Relying on an e-bike is impractical for my needs and Asheville's terrain. I need a vehicle to get to work, job interviews, and to support myself and my service dog, Jacks.

Jacks is my lifeline, helping me manage my PTSD. He requires additional training, which I cannot currently afford.

This GoFundMe aims to raise a down payment for a reliable vehicle. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant difference in my ability to rebuild my life.
