Support Paula and her family in her fight with breast cancer

Additional updates: Since the start of Paula’s cancer journey she has had a total of 3 surgeries. She had the initial one to get ride of the cancer. The second surgery was a tot hysterectomy because her cancer is estrogen driven. Finally, this last surgery was fixing things, however with this last surgery one of her wounds is almost fully open and she has necrosis of the skin. She will likely have a 4th surgery to correct this in the very near future.

Paula and her family are facing filing for bankruptcy and struggling to put food on the table. Please any amount will help them out especially to put food in their stomachs.

Update: Paula’s surgery was successful. She did have a little complication at the hospital. She was going into respiratory failure and treated her with antibiotics as if she was going into pneumonia. She was on oxygen every day until the last two days where she was able to breathe on her own.

Paula’s lymph nodes came back negative! She goes back to the oncologist on May 23rd to see if she needs any other preventative treatment.

My sister, Paula Buras, was recently diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer. Her best chance to stay in remission is to get a double mastectomy.

Paula’s surgery will take place on Friday, April 19th. With a major surgery like this, comes many medical bills plus the fact that she will be out of work for at least 2 months.

Paula was informed she is responsible for 20% of the medical bills and this will put a huge financial strain on her and her family. She has 2 beautiful daughters at home and a son away at college that have been devastated by their mom’s diagnosis.
