Support Peeples Family after Amputation

On July 16, my dad had a “leg attack.” Never heard of it? Neither had we. After a week of debilitating pain, the doctor tried to remove the arterial blockages with an angioplasty in his office only to find they weren’t budging. He spent 19 days in Baptist Memorial Hospital fighting so hard to overcome the damage caused by the attack - catheters in his leg arteries to soften the blockages and 2 more angioplasties to finally remove the blockages that the Doctor said he’d never seen anything like before. All this followed by compartment syndrome and the facsiotomy procedures necessary to relieve the pressure of swelling in the tissues surrounding the muscles. *You can look that up if you’ve never heard of it, but be ready for some nasty pictures! After all that time and painful work, we accepted the hard truth that his leg was dead. So, on August 8, my daddy had a below the knee amputation on his right leg. This was so devastating. We prayed healing over his leg. We believed in the miracle working power of our Great Physician, but as we all learn at some point, sometimes the answer is “no.” If you know my daddy, he is a hard worker and always busy with something…this happened just as his butterbeans were starting to bloom. In fact, his “leg attack” happened as he was push mowing his yard…he’s 73! It is a sobering reminder that our physical bodies are not eternal, they wear out, they fail us. But what has proved to never wear out and never fail us has been the overwhelming love we’ve experienced, he’s experienced throughout this trial. Now, my parents are entering a new season of life that requires adjustments of all kinds. To help support them, my precious mother-in-law, Mrs. Addie Fondren, my Shurden family, and my Chester Forever Family are teaming up to provide a benefit to support mama and daddy. Thank you for your support, prayers, and LOVE that y’all have showered my family with over the past few months. We are eternally grateful and abundantly blessed! Come enjoy some fellowship and good food with us on October 5 as we celebrate the victory we all have in Jesus!!! If you aren’t able to come to the Brunswick stew benefit but would still like to contribute, you can donate here!!!
