In loving memory of Peggy Emord

**UPDATE 5.9.24**

Hi all,

It is with great sadness that we announce our beautiful mother Peggy has taken her last breath this morning, 5.9.24 at 1:15am. Although we are extremely heartbroken to lose her, we are so relieved mom is no longer suffering and is finally reunited with our father.

We want to thank everyone who has donated so far to help with our upcoming medical bills. We are choosing to keep the donations open to continue supporting our now upcoming funeral expenses and other miscellaneous bills.

Hi everyone, Our names are Marissa Emord and Robert Emord, daughter and son of Margaret “Peggy” Emord.

Over the last month, Peggy has been admitted into the hospital for what started off as excessive coughing and difficulty breathing. Unfortunately, We received the most devastating news over the weekend. The type of news no son and daughter wants to ever hear. Our beautiful mother was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Stage 4 Lung Cancer. Everyday she gets weaker and weaker. But we are hopeful the wonderful team of doctors at HUMC can help her live the rest of her life as comfortable as possible.

Currently, Peggy has fluid in her lungs that need to be drained daily. If all current medication and chemo goes well, there is a possibility of our mother coming home as soon as this week. As excited and hopeful as we are, the continuation of care at home is something we need to financially prepare ourselves for.

Unfortunately, our mother’s insurance does not cover the full amount of the equipment she needs. The equipment alone will cost us between $1,500-2,100 a month. We will also need to hire a nurse to drain her lungs twice a day, as well as perform other care procedures. Currently, her insurance deductible has not been met. And due to her string of illnesses, her deductible is $7,500

Due to current financial hardships and inflation in the workplace, Our mother, a business owner in Lodi, has selflessly refused to take a paycheck for months now to ensure her employees are paid fully every week. Because of that, bills and payments have been backed up momentarily.

We are kindly asking for any type of donation to help support our mother and the upcoming medical bills and home bills, to help make the remainder of her life as comfortable as possible at home with her family and friends, and most importantly, see her daughter Marissa get married in a private ceremony at home.
