Support Pet Wants Arvada After Burglary

Hiya! My name is Katya Herring and my best friend Sharon Hodge runs Pet Wants Arvada in Arvada, Colorado. We met as I was a foster for the rescue organization iResq, which saves at-risk dogs from states like Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas and brings them to Colorado to find their own forever homes. Pet Wants Arvada not only hosts weekly adoption events to save the lives of in-need pets, but Sharon fosters herself. Sharon and her roommate even assisted their foster in giving birth to 8 beautiful and healthy chihuahua puppies that were later adopted through the store. Sharon has a foster fail from iResq herself, a young pitbull now named Malcolm.

Unfortunately, there was a string of burglaries in the downtown Arvada area within the last week where the shop was burglarized and the window smashed. The window repair itself will cost $2,500 out of pocket since the culprit is unlikely to be identified. Pet Wants Arvada is still just starting out, with only being in business a little under two years, a financial blow such as this could put the wonderful work done at this location on hold. (With Colorado winters making an uninsulated space very chilly) I'm asking for help from the rescue community to assist someone that embodies strength, resilience, and love through adversity, in order to make a difference in the community and the lives of rescue animals.
