Support Peter Clever's Family After Tragic Loss

Hi my name is Emmanuel and I'm raising funds for younger Peter Asia. A tribute to my younger brother late Barrister Peter Clever Kaosiride Asia. Peter Clever’s life was a testament to resilience and strength. Born into a world of struggle, he faced his first battle only days after his birth, when polio struck and left him crippled on his right side from shoulder to leg. Doctors rushed to baptize him, fearing the worst. But Peter survived. For the first ten years of his life, he was unable to walk, confined to the ground without a wheelchair. Yet even in those difficult years, Peter’s spirit remained unbroken. His journey toward independence began when he was sent to the Cheshire Home in Ubulu Ihejiofor, then to the Oji River Cheshire Home. There, he underwent surgeries to strengthen his right side, and slowly, with immense determination, he learned to walk with crutches. It wasn’t just his body that grew stronger - his mind was sharp, and his heart was full of ambition. After elementary school, Peter returned home and began his secondary education at Awo-Idemili Community Secondary School, where he graduated and went on to study law at the University of Calabar. His brilliance and dedication led him to the Nigeria Law School in Enugu, where he completed his journey to becoming a barrister. Though life was never easy for Peter, he never allowed his physical limitations to define him. He married a woman who, at first, hesitated because of his disability. But his unwavering character and the love of a close friend changed her heart, and they built a beautiful life together, raising four wonderful children - two boys and two girls. Peter’s brilliance as a lawyer was matched only by his love as a husband and father. For over 20 years, he faithfully represented his clients, walking with a cane but never allowing his physical challenges to slow him down. But fate was cruel. On Monday, October 7, 2024, after a day in court, Peter was walking slowly, as he always did, to flag down a taxi. A reckless bus driver struck him from behind, and Peter fell, hitting his head on the concrete. His body was broken, his head lacerated, and he suffered brain hemorrhage. In his final moments, Peter’s dignity was stolen by the broken healthcare system. Though passersby rushed him to several hospitals, each one turned him away because no one could pay a deposit. Strangers, desperate and helpless, returned him to the scene of the accident, only for a neighbor to recognize him and take him home. He was still breathing when his wife found him and rushed him to the hospital. But by then, it was too late. Peter Clever, a man who had fought so hard for every step in life, passed away, denied the care he so desperately needed. Peter’s story is one of triumph over adversity, of love and dedication, and of a life lived with purpose. He leaves behind a legacy of courage, resilience, and unshakable faith in the face of unimaginable challenges. He was a brother, a father, a husband, and a brilliant lawyer, but more than anything, he was a fighter until the very end. Rest in peace, Peter Clever. You will never be forgotten.…

Peter's kids and his wife now need help to raise his four children who are in elementary school in Lagos, Nigeria. I would appreciate any little help that I can get to Peter's kids and his wife.
