Please Support Phat - An Update

Donation protected
An update on Phat for you all - I know many of you have been in regular contact with him over the last six months; he is forever grateful and has been deeply moved by all of the support. It's been a difficult journey, and he has inspired us all. It has not been a surprise, but to witness Phat's resolve and positive attitude at such a hard time has nonetheless been a gift of wonder.

Across the late spring and summer, Phat underwent multiple surgeries and 10 bi-weekly treatments of chemo which, while certainly no fun at all, did not seem to faze him very much from a health standpoint. Unfortunately, that treatment was slower in impact than the doctor's wanted, and eventually it was determined that his heart was no longer pumping with the right efficiency. At that point, the chemo was discontinued and Phat had open-heart surgery in November to replace a valve in his heart. While still in a lot of pain, he has recovered quite well from that surgery.

Starting today, Phat is kicking off a new and much more aggressive round of chemo, and his team of doctors is moving as quickly as possible to slow the spread of his cancer and to begin planning for additional surgeries to remove the sources of the cancer wherever they can. Please send him your positive thoughts, prayers, and energy as he enters this new phase of treatment.

This fundraiser has exceeded its original goal, thanks to everyone's generous support, but Phat really needs additional funds to help cover the mounting medical costs related to his ongoing treatments, as well as ongoing legal expenses that continue to weigh on his financial security and that of his kids. If you are able, please consider an additional donation. Let's also do our best to spread this message far and wide across Phat's network. If you know someone who knows him but might not be seeing this, please pass along the link.

On Phat's behalf, thank you all so much. We all know Phat - he has no problem coming up with words, but when it comes to conversations around this fundraiser and the support he has received, there is always a pause as he looks for the right words to express his thanks. Let's all hope and pray that the new year and this treatment will bring some positive news to our dear friend.
