Support Phoebe's Dream: National Arts Festival

My name is Amanda Biggs Lawson, and I am a vocal coach, performer, and an avid supporter of my students. I've been teaching for over 13 years and feel passionate about helping students find opportunities to further their love for music in all areas of performance.

I am raising funds for a phenomenally gifted singer/performer student of mine named Phoebe Mendota. Phoebe has been studying voice with me for almost 9 years and has grown immensely in that time. She will be a Freshman at BHSS in the Fall of 2025. In February 2026, Phoebe has been offered the opportunity to be a part of the National Performing Arts Festival in Orlando, FL. If she raises enough money, she will have the chance to compete along with a small group of other Bloomington-area young performers. Those who attend will have an opportunity to be part of several days of musical theater workshops and training with a variety of professionals from the theater industry.

This trip represents “all things Phoebe,” encompassing theater, performance, networking, dance, travel, Universal Studios, and ultimately working alongside some of her favorite Bloomington theater directors.
