Our sister, Pi'ikea Kalakau-Baarde, birthed her first son, Silas Iosepa La'anui Baarde, on Dec 28, 2024, and he was with his loving parents for less than one day before passing away on December 29, 2024.

As feminists, mothers, and sisters, we know that this time of grief will also come with unexpected expenses. Those of us who have lost children have had to navigate medical costs, funeral costs, and potentially any unpaid leave time as working mothers while recovering.
