Support 'Dissonance' as we become a 501c(3)!

Founded by Pavan M. Thimmaiah in 2001, PMT Dance Company is a New York City based company that incorporates original music, a storyline and a method of creating ‘movement before music’ with elements of Hip Hop, Funk, Contemporary and Jazz dance. We most recently worked towards the premiere of 'Dissonance' a production featuring original choreography, original music and was performed to live music. This production follows the story of a young dancer as they navigate the complexities of finding love both within and without themselves.

We are thrilled about the overwhelmingly positive feedback from the premiere of 'Dissonance'. It was years’ worth of hard work and sacrifice. Sunday, July 14th was a reward for those efforts, one we collectively share with gratitude to all of those who supported us along the way.

We see now the potential of this production and want to explore future performances. After our performance on July 14th, we firmly believe that 'Dissonance', and this cast, deserves more opportunities for our work to be seen. We believe this show can be something special, finding itself alongside other dance and theatrical productions with long runs in NYC.

While we are happy to have opportunities elsewhere, we are hoping to have a bigger show in NYC with Alex Feder, Co-Composer who works with Enrique and LP, joining us! The system requires that we become a non-profit. Thus, we are beginning the fundraising needed to make sure there is a sustainable source of income for our artists and this wonderful show.

Please support our GoFundMe to get this dream off the ground! This production costs approximately $40K to put on - and that is on a budget where the lead Creatives are not compensating themselves. Paying fair wages and providing for a show, in New York City, at a worthy venue takes resources. Unfortunately, despite bringing billions of dollars in revenue to the City, the arts landscape in NYC does not reward its artists with the support seen in other cities, both in the US and abroad. We rely on the generous support of patrons and dance lovers alike to bring shows like this to realization.
