Support Polo Miguel's Fight Against TB Meningitis

I am reaching out to you today to share the story of my cousin's son, Polo Miguel, and ask for your generous support in his time of need. Last June 8th, Polo Miguel, a sweet and vibrant 11-year-old, suddenly experienced a frightening episode that left him disoriented, unable to coordinate his movements, and unable to speak. Fearing the worst, they rushed him to the emergency room for immediate medical attention.

Over the following days, Polo Miguel underwent numerous tests, procedures, and underwent multiple CT scans. Thankfully, his condition began to improve, and he regained control of his body movements and his ability to speak on June 9th. However, this was just the beginning of his journey.

Following further evaluations and a lumbar function procedure, it was devastatingly confirmed that Polo Miguel has been diagnosed with TB meningitis, a severe infection that affects the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord. This heartbreaking diagnosis has placed Polo Miguel in the pediatric ICU, where he requires constant and meticulous monitoring to ensure his well-being.

As you can imagine, the road to recovery for Polo Miguel will be long and arduous. He will require specialized medical care, including antibiotics, medications to manage symptoms and complications, regular check-ups, and rehabilitation therapies to regain his strength and coordination. The financial burden on his family has already been immense, and they are struggling to cope with the mounting medical expenses.
