Support Ponchatoula Karate Team USA in Japan

The Ponchatoula Karate Center is honored to have our students representing Team USA in Japan at the World Karate Championships. Each of our dedicated athletes has invested countless hours of training and commitment to earn the opportunity to represent the USA.

While we take great pride in competing in such a prestigious event, each competitor is responsible for the financial cost of travel to Japan. As a dojo, we aim to support our athletes and ensure they can concentrate fully on their training.

The Funakoshi Gichin Karate World Championship Tournament will be held on October 25 (Fri.) - October 27(Sun.) 2024 at the Takasaki Arena, Takasaki, Japan.

The World Championship Tournament occurs every three years and is attended by over 130 countries.

Here is Fransisco Hernandez, who will be competing in the 14-year-old division.

Helen Stone will be competing in the 75+ women's division.
