Support Poncho's Fight Against Heartworm

Rip (now Poncho) came to Project Hope in January 2024 after being on death row. He was dropped off at a kill shelter by his owners. Project Hope decided to give him a chance, and we're glad we did. He is an amazing dog! But, he has heartworm, We started him on treatment in March. A few weeks ago he started breathing heavy and it turned into a cough. We immediately took him in for a more advanced heartwork test along with a chest xray. The chest xray revealed some enlarged heart valves (most likely due to hearworm disease) but also spots on his lungs. The vet recommended an echocardiogram along with a fungal test to rule out blastomycosis. He took that test today. His echo is scheduled for Thursday. His heartworm treatment will cost us around $1,500. The fungal test is $300, and his echo is $700.
