Our sweet boy Potomac had a rapid onset of insulinoma that was causing seizures, and he received emergency surgery on May 2 to remove the mass from his pancreas. Unfortunately it had metastasized before we caught it and he had to be put down on May 4. The surgical team at the UMN small animal hospital took incredible care of him and gave him a fighting chance, but the total price tag of over $12,000 is out of reach for me.
Potomac loved everyone he met and believed every person deserves safety and dignity. To honor his caring nature, no more than half of the money raised will go to his surgery and hospital costs, with all the rest going to the Palestine Children's Relief Fund.
Many of you have come to love this pup who literally wandered onto the porch and into our hearts after living on the streets in Knoxville. A fan of belly rubs, long walks, cuddles, friends, and peanut butter, Potomac loved everyone and everything around him (except the mailman) with immense joy and a fullness of spirit. Thank you for contributing what you can ❤️ May we live in a world where everyone is as loving and carefree as our sweet potato was.
