Support Prisoner Pro Se Legal Work
Donation protected
My name is Damon Anderson. I have spent most of my life incarcerated. I now want to reach out and help those in need.
I am a paralegal and have successfully litigated several cases concerning the violation of prisoners' civil rights. These cases have concerned infringements upon religious freedom, use of excessive force by authorities, the deliberate indifference of penal staff to serious medical needs, retaliation against incarcerated persons, illegal searches and ADA compliance.
Finding a lawyer to take a case for someone in my situation is nearly impossible unless a lawsuit is expected to bring in lots of money. Although there are those like me who can and will fight the system — and some of us, myself included, have done so successfully — fighting that legal fight still costs money. To effectively litigate requires intensive investigation, depositions, filing fees and, in most cases, expert witnesses. That requires more money than most incarcerated people like myself have on hand.
My goal is to fully fund my legal challenges to prisons, jails and abusive authorities. I will also be using donations received to assist other prisoners with their legal work and support pro se prisoner litigation.
I appreciate any monetary support you can offer. Your donations will go directly towards funding my work and the work of others on the inside as we use the legal means available to compel transformative reforms within the criminal punishment system. If you're in a position to do so and feel so inclined, I encourage you to donate to this fundraiser.
If you do not have dollars to spare, there are other ways you can help. You can volunteer to assist with preparation of documents, investigation, research and so on. To do so, you can write to me at the postal address below.
