WHO ARE YOU?
Hey lovely people, I'm Miracle - a young, black, queer creative with a passion for storytelling and self-expression in ALL forms. I am currently studying Advertising and Brand Design alongside being a creative director, social media manager and content creator. I seek to challenge institutions, brands and society that don't make space for black queer people, starting with my online TV-style show, BLKQR TV.
Bold inquisitiveness is at the heart of everything I do.
Through growing up black and LGBTQ+, I have witnessed black queer erasure both in the black community, the LGBTQ+ community and in society. The black LGBTQ+ community has been subjected to hate, abuse, stereotyping and being misunderstood for far too long and this has to change.
WHAT IS BLKQR TV?
So, I came up with the idea for BLKQR - an organisation and creative platform that will advocate for the rights of the black LGBTQ+ community, encouraging change in the mainstream - from policy to better understanding.
Out of this comes our first project, BLKQR TV, an online show and platform which centres on black queer voices, allowing us a space to just BE. I will host this interview-style show, bringing on a range of people from the BLKQR community to discuss and debate topics and have a good time and a break from some of life’s challenges.
Though niche, this content series is not created to alienate, but rather to create a bridge and a platform for black queer representation and promotion.
WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO CHANGE?
A prevalent issue in black queer representation is that we never get happy endings. When people like us are on the screens, we are often reduced to stereotypes - that we’re ALL hypersexual, unfulfilled and unhappy. This is not true!
There are so many black LGBTQ+ people with stories to tell which are all so different. On BLKQR TV, whilst we want to talk about the important and deep issues around the hate and abuse many of us relate to, we also want to break down misconceptions and stereotyping by showing the intersectionality and joy within the black LGBTQ+ community.
BUDGET BREAKDOWN (JULY 2022)
I am so grateful for any contribution made towards this campaign - be it £5 or £100.
Every little helps!
Please also share this with your friends, family and or network to give this as much reach as possible and help bring BLKQR TV to the screen.

BLKQR TV is a creative platform which seeks to amplify the voices of black queer people through bi-monthly episodes which will feature on Youtube and be promoted on social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok.
Aside from the video series, we also look to support, educate, uplift and entertain the black queer community and beyond in other ways.
Our video interview series, BLKQR TV, is our primary content piece - a show that will give a platform to different types of black queer people and allow them to have grounded conversations about their lives. BLKQR is for everyone, black queer or not, who wants to educate and be educated, inspire and be inspired and entertain and be entertained.
No topic will be off-limits!
From the deep side of our lives to the silly questions, thoughts and everything in between, we vow to take ownership of each of our narratives.
Beyond this, we aim to inspire change in the mainstream by advocating for the rights of black queer people. We envision developing our brand to a place where we have media and brand partnerships, multiple productions and more, increasing our reach across the world.
There is just not one story. We are not a monolith.
Unapologetically black.
Unapologetically queer.
BLKQR.
