Support PUGE's BHM Concert & Future Sustainability

Dear all:

As many of you know, PUGE, Princeton University's Gospel Ensemble, is the oldest running Black Christian organization at Princeton University. Across six decades, PUGE has insisted on dignifying Black gospel music on Princeton's campus -- and we still are envisioning a world where everyone feels safe enough to grasp their dignity and fully promote their neighbors'.

Last year, we held a Black History Month concert and we are hoping to do that again! Many great students have joined us since the fall of 2024; in the past few months, we've attended the Reunion Tour Concert, held a Thursday night worship service, and hosted a Christmas party. Our Black History Month concert on February 23, however, is the biggest event of our year so far.

And this is where we hope you can come in. Many great musicians -- none of them current students at Princeton University -- have agreed to participate in this event. We want to pay them. We also want to be able to purchase sound equipment of our own: borrowing from local ministries isn't always viable, and we hope to have quality materials that we can use (and let others borrow!) for future events. Our hope is that this builds momentum for our future work of courageously and communally proclaiming God's peace to the campus. Can you help?

The work, of course, isn't limited to this: We have more things that we are hoping to do. But this is just a start. And we're trusting that the network of alums and other people who care about our ministry might be able to come through for us. Thank you so much for considering!
