Help Us Give Pumpkin a Forever Home
This past weekend, while celebrating a birthday girls trip in Palm Beach, Mexico, Kirsty, Geneva and I we were unexpectedly joined by a very special companion. Among the wild horses, a malnourished and exhausted dog, whom we’ve named Pumpkin, found us. It was love at first sight for all of us, but Kirsty especially , and Pumpkin seemed to know she had finally found a safe place.
Despite her tough start, Pumpkin’s spirit remained unbroken, and with a little help, we got her tested for heartworms and parvo—both thankfully negative. However, she is battling ehrlichia, a tick-borne disease, but she’s already on antibiotics and in good hands. We also made sure that she received all her vaccines and got her microchipped, ensuring she’s ready for a new life in the U.S.
Unfortunately, the region, north of Cabo and south of Todos Santos, is overwhelmed with dogs in similar situations, and we couldn’t find a shelter to take her in. Determined to give Pumpkin the life she deserves, we went to great lengths to bring her to the U.S. Kirsty is now bringing her home to Austin, where Pumpkin will finally have the generous love and care she needs.
We’ve documented a lot of her journey but glad to share all of it by request! Please message any one of us, but Kirsty especially- with their journey home to Austin, and Kirsty’s persistent love, their souls are tied now. ♥️
This journey was unexpected, and while we’re grateful for the generosity of local residents, vets, and volunteers who have helped along the way - especially the amazing women in Austin who jumped in Dawn Sellers, Barrett, Robin Boozer, and Rena , who have helped fund and coordinate in countless ways. It does take a village and Pumpkin already has a band of women warriors!
We are asking for your support to help cover the remaining travel and medical expenses. Our goal is $500, and any amount you can contribute will make a world of difference to Pumpkin. Thank you for being a part of her rescue story. ♥️
