Hi! Call me Q!
I am a 30-something transgender man getting my MPH in Epidemiology with a concentration in Applied Biostatistics at Rutgers University. I receive a 50% tuition scholarship. However, for the last two semesters, I have received this scholarship after my student loans have disbursed. This caused my account credit to surpass the designated cost of attendance, which automatically sent my student loans back to the lender earlier this semester. I did not find this out until a few weeks ago. I have been working with the billing office to remedy this, but at this point in the semester, I now need to pay $8,409 in the next three weeks to register for classes for summer and fall 2025.
If I don't register for the summer semester in time, my graduation will be delayed from January 2026 until May 2026.
I am currently scheduled to have gender affirming surgery in January. I have been on a long waiting list for this, and it is finally within reach. If my graduation is delayed until May, I will have to reschedule this surgery and potentially wait years until the next date is available.
Please don't hesitate to message me with any questions!
Thanks for reading.
Love,
Q
