Support Quintin Campos' Road to Recovery!!!

Donation protected
Hello, wonderful community,

I'm Edith Gonzalez, and I write this with a heavy yet hopeful heart as Quintin Campos and Yvette Hays' best friend, turned chosen family. Quintin is a nephew to me and an amazing one at that. I am reaching out to you today with a plea for financial assistance for the family due to rising medical expenses.

Beginning on 4/6/24, Quintin experienced increased pain and numbness in his leg, leading to a loss of mobility and sensation. Yvette rushed him to Enloe Medical Center where staff urgently airlifted him from Enloe to UCSF for immediate emergency treatment and surgery. Quintin underwent surgery to remove a large mass from his thoracic spine, necessitating fusion and leaving him with a significant incision and limited mobility. The good news is, he can now move his toes, and the numbness & tingling in his right leg is improving. Quintin's journey to full recovery is estimated to take 6-12 months if all goes well.

As of the latest update from today, Quintin bravely stood up for the first time since his surgery, an emotional moment that brought tears of joy to his eyes despite the pain. This courageous step, even with the support of pain medication, signifies his unwavering spirit. Yet, the road to recovery will be long and will require a great effort moving forward. After his discharge from UCSF, Quintin is expected to transition to a rehabilitation facility to aid in his recovery. Thus, we humbly request your assistance in covering the associated medical costs.

The financial strain is immense, not only due to the medical expenses but also because his family will need to take time off work, commute back and forth, and manage daily, weekly, monthly, and long-term expenses.

Quintin is only 22 years old, but he has already proved himself to be a remarkable individual. He is genuine, modest, kind, smart, witty, and silly. He has a big personality and even bigger heart. He cherishes his friends and family above all else and is eager to return to work and spend cherished moments with us all.

We are immensely grateful for the exceptional care he's receiving from the dedicated medical professionals at Enloe and UCSF. But we cannot navigate this journey alone.

We humbly ask for your support, be it through donations, prayers, or sharing this campaign. Every contribution, no matter how small, will help alleviate the financial burden on Quintin and his mom, allowing them to focus on his recovery. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing by Quintin during this challenging time. Your kindness, love, and generosity mean the world to us all.

*Update on Q--- 4/13/2024*

I wanted to share some updates with all of you incredible supporters.

We're relieved to share that, by the grace of God, Quintin's mass is not cancerous but a rare form of gout!!! Nonetheless, he has a challenging road to recovery ahead.

Quintin was transitioned to Enloe Rehab in Chico where they are working hard to get him healthy. If everything goes according to plan, he will be released in two weeks for continued rehabilitation efforts at home. These efforts will require his mother's ongoing support. While he is making slow and steady strides, he requires a lot of assistance from nursing staff and others get around. Currently, Quintin has 48 staples in his back and titanium screws, and he's experiencing pain. Yet, he continues keeping the medical team entertained with his jokes and positive attitude.

We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has contributed through various apps, and to those who have visited and cared for Q, to those that have provided food, snacks, a bed, and other essentials (*like chones*). Your generosity and support have been nothing short of amazing. Q and Yvette are thankful for all of you showing up for them during their time of crisis, and as someone who loves them, I am incredibly thankful too!

Please continue to keep Quintin in your thoughts and prayers for a speedy and smooth recovery.

Again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your kindness will never be forgotten. For those who are still considering donating, the family would be eternally thankful for your continued support as their journey has just begun.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Edith Gonzalez, Yvette Hays, and Quintin Campos
