Support Quinton & Robyn in their Fight against Cancer

Donation protected
My parents are Quinton & Robyn Kanae. They are high school sweethearts of almost 35yrs and looking forward to celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary in March.

As the oldest child, I have literally witnessed them go thru life’s greatest joys & deepest sorrows together. They have been my greatest example of unconditional love.

Prior to 2013 my mom was diagnosed with chronic hyperthyroidism which damaged her major organs and as they began to shut down it became her 1st near death experience. Soon after it was discovered that she had a heart murmur caused by a mitral valve leak which she was told would need to be replaced with open heart surgery eventually. In 2015 she had both a bladder surgery and a hysterectomy. About 4yrs ago her heart stopped suddenly on a day that by a miracle, my dad was home early from work. He performed CPR and literally saved her life. 2yrs ago mom was involved in a freak accident in which she suffered with a major concussion, brain bleed, multiple slow healing hematomas and a laceration that caused permanent nerve damage. It was a miracle it didn’t kill her. Again, dad nursed her to recovery. Dad always said mom comes first. Dad has always picked up our family’s broken pieces.

Latter part of last year mom was diagnosed with heart failure. Soon after, our family endured a life altering trauma that caused uprooting and unforeseen transitions. As a result we canceled all family holiday traditions. So as you can imagine we looked forward to the new year putting all the heartaches behind us.

On January 9th my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. The double heartbreak for myself, siblings and the rest of our immediate family was on January 15th when my dad was diagnosed with oral cancer. We are devastated, shocked and overwhelmed with grief. But mom has been such a faithful servant of God and her testimony continues to inspire everyone around her. My dad, also known as QTIP in his motivational videos and uplifting messages, are trying their best to focus on positivity. But what I see in them is fear, heartbreak and a steady flow of tears. The reality that we all have been concerned about mom’s health then just like that - Dad our rock, is in that boat. I can’t explain in words what it feels like to have both parents diagnosed with cancer.

Family & friends, I humbly ask for help. My parents have medical insurance but the upcoming surgeries, cancer treatments and ongoing visits will financially surpass what’s available. After everything they’ve endured and who they are as people, I pray for mercy that they can battle this with some support that lifts some burdens so they can focus on each other and their survivorship. Please allow my parents to process this challenge in peace. I’ve taken on the responsibility to communicate updates as they become available. Mahalo for your time and consideration
