Support Rachel's Courageous Cancer Battle
Donation protected
Rachel Nazaruk, a loving mother and dedicated employee, was just 38 years old when her life took an unexpected turn. In August 2021, she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Triple-Negative breast cancer, a particularly aggressive form of the disease. With unwavering courage, she embarked on a rigorous treatment plan, enduring chemotherapy, radiation and a bilateral mastectomy. For a year, there was hope as the cancer remained in remission. Rachel even began planning for reconstructive surgery, eager to reclaim a sense of normalcy.
However, in April 2022, her world was shaken once again. The cancer had metastasized to her brain, forming three tumors that required immediate surgery. With remarkable strength, she underwent the procedure and subsequent radiation. Despite the challenges, Rachel remained determined to live life to the fullest, getting engaged to her fiancé Ken, raise their five-year-old daughter Cassie, and cherish precious moments with loved ones.
The journey has been arduous, marked by recurring tumors and the need for further treatments. Recently, the cancer which is now Stage 4, spread again necessitating the placement of a new port for lifelong chemotherapy. She now faces whole-brain radiation, a treatment known to impact memory and cognitive function.
Despite the physical and emotional toll, Rachel’s spirit remains unbroken. Instead of planning a wedding, she now has to navigate the complexities of her medical condition. The mounting medical bills and everyday expenses, however, have become an additional burden. Any support offered will not only alleviate financial stress but also serve as a testament to the love and care surrounding Rachel and her family during this challenging time.
By sharing Rachel’s story, we hope to raise awareness about the realities of living with metastatic breast cancer and to inspire others with her strength and resilience. Any contribution, however big or small, will make a meaningful difference in her life and allow her to focus on what matters most: healing, spending time with her daughter and cherishing each day.
