Support Randy Faust's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Hi, friends! My name is Kathryn Jordan, but you may know me as Kathryn Faust or “Janie”. As you may know, our dad, Randy Faust, was in a horrible freak accident involving a severe thunderstorm & high winds on Wednesday, May 22nd, 2024 near Cameron.
Dad suffered major injuries when he was hit by a 400 pound gate at 80+ MPH. He would not be here with us today without my brother, Allen, who happened to be working with him that evening. Dad has a depressed skull fracture, brain contusion, horrific brain bleed, 9 shattered ribs, fractured thoracic and lumbar spine, collapsed lung, broken collarbone and severe facial trauma. When he first arrived at the hospital, the doctor’s prognosis was very poor and he was not expected to make it through the night. That night, he underwent an emergency brain surgery and had a craniotomy.
—BUT—
Our God is greater and by his divine healing and mercy, our daddy is still with us today! Over the past few days, he has made tremendous progress and recently came off of the ventilator. He is able to follow basic commands and has been able to speak to us on a limited basis. With that being said, the battle is far from over as he will have a very extensive recovery including at least two more surgeries. He is currently in the Surgical Trauma ICU at Baylor Scott & White in Temple.
Our family is graciously asking for your support with the coming medical bills and lost wages that he and his wife, Mary, will face. Any amount helps and from the bottom of our hearts, we sincerely thank you for your support and many prayers for our precious daddy.
With gratitude,
The Faust Family
Update 5/30:
He had the ventilator turned off on Saturday 5/25 but he got put back on it Monday 5/27. On Tuesday 5/29, they identified a blood clot in his right leg & a surgery was performed to place an IVC filter. Then on Wednesday 5/29, he had a tracheotomy & that is helping him breathe better.
