Support Ranger Warriors Mission to Microchip all Cats & Dogs

Donation protected
Hello,

Ranger Warriors is a new non-profit group on San Pedro, Belize that started when my dog Ranger went missing. Many people saw Ranger but no one helped him and eventually we believe he died of starvation, thirst, and exhaustion. Ranger had a shirt on but someone took it off the first night he went missing. Ranger was also chipped, but on San Pedro people are not in the habit of bringing animals in to have them scanned. Ranger Warriors wants to change that, so what happened to my Ranger never happens to another fur baby again.

We want to micro chip every cat and dog on the island including strays in collaboration with Saga Humane Society & San Pedro Animal Hospital in Belize. If we succeed the people will start getting into the habit of bringing in dogs and cats to see who their chip is registered too, instead of just letting them run around the island.

Our mission is to obtain several scanners so that we can distribute them throughout the island from far north to far south. This way people will no longer have to just go to Saga or SPAH to scan a lost or found dog or cat. Once we have every dog, cat, puppy & kitten microchipped we are hopping it will become normal for people to see an animal running around grab them and bring them to a scanning station to location their owners. No longer will animals asking for help be ignored on the streets of San Pedro, Belize.

We are asking for your help. Please donate whatever you can so that we can microchip all cats and dogs on the island, including strays. We have many people who can not afford to micro chip their dogs and cats. With this program they will be able to chip all their dogs and cats for free.

Thank you Ranger for giving us a direction to help so many others, you are missed everyday. I am sorry no one thought to grab you and have you scanned and bring you home. We miss you everyday my boy .

Right now we are looking at a universal ISO scanner that can read chips from all over the world they are $80us/each. We are hoping to outfit the island with about a dozen, so we have multiple spots to scan a lost or found dog or cat. The more scanners we have the less distance people without transportation have to travel.

The microchip needs to be ISO compliant. The International Organization for Standardization Microchips are internationally regulated by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO, iso.org). The biggest advantage to ISO compliance is that all of the chips emit the same frequency, leaving less risk of using a scanner that can't detect the microchip. These chips are about $20us/each.

Thank you for helping.
