Support Ranko's Fight Against Glioblastoma

In October 2023. our father Ranko Burzan has been diagnosed with primary brain cancer, Glioblastoma grade IV. Surgery was performed at Clinical Center of Montenegro and visible tumor was removed. Afterward he started with standard of care therapy, radiation plus chemotherapy. Unfortunately, tumor has returned and kept growing.

Due to aggressive nature of this tumor and low chances of survival, we were forced to search for other treatments outside of Montenegro. We found CEGAT Clinic in Tubingen Germany which gives the best chances of prolonging life and possibly curing this tumor.

After genetic analysis, Board of Specialists in CEGAT came to conclusion that our father is a candidate for peptide vaccines as a form of treatment. For the diagnostics and the production of these vaccines, we’ve raised an amount of 80,000 Euros, which we borrowed from family and friends, as time is of the essence with this type of tumor, and the process of tumor analysis and vaccine production in Germany takes about 4 to 6 months.

Two weeks before the scheduled first vaccines in Tubingen our fathers health got worse due to tumor growth, leading to emergency second surgery in the end of August 2024.

This surgery was also recommended by doctors in Germany due to the size of the tumor. Neurosurgeon Dr. Borovinić removed all visible tumor as shown by the MRI of October 2nd. Our father is recovering well, with restored motor functions.

Meanwhile, between the surgery and the follow-up MRI, Ranko received the first 4 out of 14 vaccines in Tübingen as part of the protocol. The next 10 will be administered every 4-6 weeks.

We herby invite all kind-hearted people who are able to help us repay the borrowed funds and support our fight for our fathers life.

The mentioned amount is for the treatment in Germany specifically, and doesn’t include travel expenses each month, special food regimen and supplement he has been taking and continues to consume in order to give his life and this treatment the best chance of succeeding.

Aside for the adequate therapy he started to receive, additional strength gives him his family, friends, as well his physical and mental strength to overcome this disease.

U oktobru 2023. godine, našem ocu Ranku Burzanu dijagnostifikovan je tumor mozga, Glioblastoma stepen IV. U Kliničkom centru Crne Gore odrađena je operacija kada je uklonjen tumor. Nakon toga, nastavio je sa predloženom terapijom, zračenje plus hemioterapija. Međutim tumor se vratio.

S obzirom da se radi o veoma agresivnom tumoru, gdje su prognoze za izliječenje loše, primorani smo bili da potražimo još neke vrste liječenja van Crne Gore. Došli smo do klinike Cegat u Tubingenu koja daje najbolje šanse za produženje života i eventualno izliječenje od ovog tumora.

Nakon odrađenih analiza, konzilijum Cegata je utvrdio da je naš otac kanidat za izradu peptidnih vakcina kao načina liječenja. Za dijagnostiku i izradu ovih vakcina skupili smo iznos od 80,000 Eura koji smo pozajmili od porodice i prijatelja, jer je vrijeme sa ovom vrstom tumora od esencijalne važnosti, a sami proces analize tumora i proizvodnja vakcina u Njemačkoj traje od 4 do 6 mjeseci.

Dvije nedjelje prije zakazanih prvih vakcina tatino zdravlje se pogoršalo uvećanjem tumora, što je dovelo do hitne druge operacije krajem avgusta 2024.

Operacija je bila i preporuka doktora iz Njemačke zbog veličine tumora. Neurohirurg dr. Borovinić je otklonio sav vidni tumor što je pokazala magnetna od 2.oktobra. Naš otac se opravlja dobro, sa vraćenim motoričkim sposobnostima.

U međuvremenu, između operacije i kontrolne magnetne, Ranko je primio prve 4 od 14 vakcina u Tubingenu kao dio protokola. Narednih 10 će biti raspoređene svakih 4-6 nedjelja.

Ovim putem pozivamo sve ljude dobre volje koji su u mogućnosti da nam pomognu u izmirivanju pozajmljenih sredstava i pomognu u borbi za nama vazan život.

Gore navedeni iznos se odnosi samo na dijagnostiku i 14 peptidnih vakina i ne uključuje putne troškove svakog mjeseca, poseban režim ishrane i suplemente koje je konzumirao i nastavlja da uzima kako bi dao svome životu i ovom tretmanu najbolju šansu za uspijeh. Redovno ćemo obavještavati o napretku liječenja.

Pored adekvatne terapije koju je počeo da prima, dodatnu snagu pružaju mu porodica, prijatelji, kao i njegova fizička i mantalna snaga i odlučnost da se izbori sa ovom bolešću.
