Support Raven's Journey to a Healthier Home

Hey y'all. My name's Raven, and I've got a problem. Well, not so much a problem as a challenge.

For the past 2 1/2 years, I've been putting in work to clean and prepare my grandmother's house to eventually live in. I don't make a ton of money (who even does amirite), but whenever I can, I put whatever cash I have towards making this house a home. I've spent a lot of time researching, making calls, getting estimates and taking countless trips to hardware stores to try and get this 50+ year old house functional again, and while it's been A LOT of work, it's been incredibly rewarding.

Why am I trying to do this? Well, to put it bluntly, I don't currently live in the most mentally or physically healthy environment. Up until this point, things were generally neutral with my immediate family, but recent developments have made me see that staying where I am will ultimately exacerbate a myriad of my chronic health issues, so I'm trying to speed up what basic maintenance things I can to make my granny's house a more comfortable and healthy environment.

Two of the biggest hurdles I've had to deal with are sourcing a company to perform duct cleaning services to help increase the quality of the air in the house, and removing a ton of old, huge furniture that I have zero use for. Both of those things obviously aren't cheap, and given how old the house is, there's a lot of ground to cover and lots of nooks and crannies that need excavating.

A very dear friend told me that you have to let people help you, even if it's embarrassing or feels shameful, because people need people. No man is an island, and all that.

The amount I've asked for is a rough estimate, based on pricing I've seen for a combination of these services and/or any additional equipment/services that may be needed, or appliances that may need replacing. It ultimately may come out to less, but for now, I'm trying to get as much information as I can. I'll adjust the goal costs accordingly and keep y'all up to date when/if that happens.

Ultimately, I'm doing this because I know this is the best shot I have at living a better, healthier, and infinitely safer life. I know that money is a touchy subject & is in scant supply these days, but any and every penny raised will go directly towards renovations.

If you read this whole thing, thank you. If you can chip in some money, thank you. If all you can do is share/boost this so others can see it, thank you. If you have any hands-on knowledge of home improvement strategy that you wanna share with me, thank you and hit me up.

Regardless of if I hit this goal or not, being reminded that people care about me and want to see me live a safe and fulfilling life brings me a level of joy that I never could've imagined. My community is truly as big as the sky, and I love and appreciate you all for however way you choose to show up for me.
