Help with Ray~Lynn & Roxas

Donation protected
I am here, asking for help with the essentials for our grandchildren. Some may know the story, others may not.

I am not one to ask for help, this is so hard for me, but I am also one that knows that we need it. Right now, I have to swallow my pride and accept it.

Two of our grandchildren were shot in a drive-by shooting. Our daughter's home was shot into and three people, including our two grandchildren became victims of gunshot wounds, in a matter of three seconds. https://www.live5news.com/2024/08/01/1-adult-2-juveniles-hurt-drive-by-shooting-berkeley-co/?fbclid=IwY2xjawEeYa1leHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHQkM7aqzlPWCD5M16WZ_l-fNooSwwAUsKPuuuw6TMWKi8vvELLO8gXGuqw_aem_tuRFc-jgI2NWgVyq910OJw

While everyone is safe and alive, we had to leave many things behind. My sister and I have removed the babies from the situation. My husband and I have our granddaughter, my sister has our grandson.

The kids need things for school and care while they are healing, both physically and mentally.

Ray~Lynn, our nine year old, has a gunshot wound in her lower back, just above her tailbone and will need a minor surgery in the future to remove the lodged bullet because it is making it difficult for her to sit without a pillow. Roxas, our six year old has a nasty gouge out of the top of his shoulder, which is already looking like nothing more than a nasty burn that is healing nicely. Both are in good spirits, kids are pretty resilient, the hardest moments are during bandage change and wound care. Nights are hit or miss, with waking up in a panic or jumping with loud noises with the storms rolling in. I can't even begin to fathom their fear.

They need clothes, shoes, school supplies, toys (Ray~Lynn loves her plushies and stuffies and we could only bring one, she had probably 50. Roxas loves his matchbox cars and dinosaurs, and we couldn't find anything when we went to get their belongings)

We were terrified to be in the home, looking for their belongings. After the chaos and the police stormed through, what we were able to grab, was minimal.

Typically, we would be fine. But after three consecutive trips to SC, one to get Ray~Lynn for the summer, another to take her home and now another to get her... We are struggling. Between plane tickets, lost work, needing to cover medical needs until I can get her medical switched to Connecticut... we need help!

Anything will help. Whatever we receive will be divided between the kids accordingly.

I have also started an Amazon wish list for things that they need.

Thank you so much!
