Support RCIL's Mission: Empower Disabled Youth
Tax deductible
In the heart of Carson City and Elko, Nevada, there's a small but mighty organization doing
life-changing work for people who are often forgotten — disabled youth, homeless
individuals, veterans, and survivors of domestic violence.
That organization is the Rural Center for Independent Living (RCIL), led by the passionate
and fearless DeeDee Foremaster, who has spent 25 years fighting for those who can't always fight for themselves.
Every week, RCIL is:
● Helping people with disabilities find housing and stay off the streets
● Advocating for basic needs like food, hygiene, and mental health support
● Hosting WRECK Club, a weekly support group for youth with disabilities to feel seen,
heard, and supported
● Assisting battered women and veterans in rebuilding their lives
● Transporting clients to vital appointments, services, and peer support gatherings
However, to continue this essential work, RCIL needs help.
What We're Raising Funds For:
Purchase and maintain a wheelchair-accessible van so RCIL staff can safely pick up and drop off clients who otherwise have no transportation to get the help they need. This includes disabled youth who want to attend WRECK Club and those who need to get to critical advocacy appointments.
Support the weekly WRECK Club (Youth Peer Group)
WRECK Club is a safe, supportive space where youth with disabilities gather every week at
a local pizza shop in Carson City to connect, talk, and be part of something bigger.
With donations, RCIL is able to take WRECK members on amazing outings, such as a summer fishing trip, movie nights, or group activities that nurture social connection and emotional well-being.
Provide Basic Essentials and Housing Support
Your donation helps RCIL offer food, hygiene products, and housing resources to individuals who have nowhere else to turn.
Advocacy & Outreach
Help amplify the voices of those too often ignored to ensure justice, dignity, and
independence for all.
Why It Matters:
Every dollar you give goes directly to helping people survive and thrive in rural Nevada. This is more than transportation or support groups — it's about showing up for people who deserve compassion, access, and a chance at a better life. DeeDee and her team at RCIL have already changed hundreds of lives — with your help, they can change hundreds more.
Please donate what you can. Share this campaign with friends, family, and coworkers. Let’s come together to lift up our community’s most vulnerable — and remind them they are not alone.
