Help Rebecca Bell and her family with healthcare expenses

If you’ve ever met Rebecca or her children you’ve likely encountered them in costume filling the world around them with joy and laughter. Favoring the weird and wonderful over convention and showering every interaction with a little sunshine. I have long considered Rebecca and her children my family and am heartbroken to see this family suffer. While our ability to access affordable healthcare crumbles it is up to us and our culture of community care to save each other.

Rebecca is a single mom to two incredible kids; Miles (14) and Vivian (12) who is in the process of relocating from Louisville, KY to the Bay Area of California where she has accepted a staff position as a nurse. Custody arrangements are currently being worked out with the children’s father. She has been very open about the ways in which her oldest, Miles has suffered from severe depression and suicidal ideation since December of 2023. They have tried multiple therapies and outpatient treatment options, but Miles now requires more acute and long-term residential care. While doing her best to manage Miles’ healthcare from California and continuing to do he own heroic work as a nurse. She is receiving no help from her children’s father to pay for residential care expenses, increasing costs of Miles’ medication, and additional insurance coverage.

At this time Rebecca is hoping to raise $3,000 to help offset the costs of Miles’ residential treatment and all the additional healthcare expenses burdening their family at this time. She and her family have never stopped short of helping those in need and now that they have reached out for help it is my hope to see their community wrap them in support.
