Funds Needed to Help Clear and Rebuild Mountain Laurel Lane in the Hooper's Creek area of Fletcher, NC after Hurricane Helene!
Mountain Laurel Lane is a private access road which provides shared access from Livingston Road to 25+ families living in the neighborhood. Hurricane Helene's torrential rains and 60+ mph winds toppled large trees and washed out the road completely. Residents in the neighborhood are trapped without access to Livingston Road and are currently without power. Mountain Laurel Lane is also the only route in and out of the neighborhood for essential services like police, ambulance, fire, US mail, delivery trucks, and most importantly, for Duke Power to access the area to make urgent repairs. The residents of the neighborhood are making temporary repairs now to allow limited access, but the road is still in danger of further washout without permanent pavement.
Colonel Jeff Snyder (USAF Retired) is a neighborhood resident and leads the neighborhood's road maintenance committee. All funds collected by this GoFundMe will be distributed pro-rata by Colonel Snyder directly to neighborhood residents who have to pay for repairs out-of-pocket.
We greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide to the residents of Mountain Laurel Lane!
