Help Darrell Get Back On Feet After Eaton Fire
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, brothers and sisters,
My name is Darrell Dansby and along with many others affected by this catastrophic fire, I grew up in a beautiful home on Homepark Ave in Altadena, CA. For those of you that know me, I have a love for basketball, nature, and most importantly, family. Unfortunately, the Eaton fire has impacted all three of my most cherished sources of happiness.
Where do I begin... As we all know, the Eaton fire has devastated Altadena and the surrounding community. Last night, I witnessed an unimaginable tragedy. The news reported a live video from what remained of my childhood home, relating the carnage to the aftermath of a bomb explosion. Seeing my home on live TV burned to ashes along with my dreams and memories has been a surreal experience. I am blessed to say that my family and loved ones were able to rapidly evacuate and are safe from any immediate danger. Hearing the panic and chaos from my family members as they struggled to pack essentials and make life-altering decisions in split seconds has been the hardest experience of my life.
Although this crisis is still ongoing, my family is resilient and is preparing to face the next chapter of our legacy together. This process will be overwhelming and draining both physically and mentally. However, we do not have the luxury nor the aptitude to give up. Please share your support in anyway possible. All funds will directly go toward:
• Supporting our community
• Support our friends and family affected by the loss of homes
• Replacing damaged possessions
• Fund basic necessities
• Fund temporary housing as we navigate our unfamiliar future
• Cover any medical costs related to the fire
• Support mental health resources
I do not know what the next few months will look like for us, but we know we will get through it together. Please support in any way possible, whether it is financial or sharing our story. We are grateful for the strong bonds we have made over our lifetime and will not let this event define us, but rather it will be a catalyst for growth and new beginnings. After all, what does not kill us makes us stronger!
I am forever grateful for your contribution to our future.
With a heart full of pain and love,
Darrell Dansby
