Support Recovery for Lake Allatoona shooting Victim

As many of you may know, on Sunday, June 16th, Maurice and Melissa were enjoying a relaxing day at Lake Allatoona celebrating Father's Day, a day that should have ended with them safely returning home to their kids and dogs, but through the unjustified actions of a convicted felon, their day would end in absolute chaos. The incident occurred that evening, where Maurice would be shot three times after a confrontation with the criminal, of whom Maurice had no prior relation to. He was rushed to the hospital and after multiple successful surgeries, has now been moved from ICU to a standard hospital room. Maurice has fought hard to survive this unwarranted assault, but his fight to regain control of his normal life will take many months. Melissa has been by his side every step of the way, but it has come at a considerable mental cost, as any of you can imagine. The goal of this fundraiser is to help Maurice and Melissa with medical bills that can alleviate just some of the stress they are currently facing. The financial burden of an incident like this is staggering, especially considering Maurice will be deprived from working his full-time contracting job and performing his acting gigs for an extended amount of time. Maurice is a veteran of the Alabama National Guard and an alumni of Jacksonville State University. He does not have short or long-term disability, nor does he have health insurance.
