Please Help Us Get Back on Our Feet After Loss and Financial Struggles
Update as of 1/9/25:
Good news, I was able to make the rent for this month!
And it looks like my income tax return will be significant enough to help a lot, but of course that's quite a ways off before that can be of any help.
Sadly however, it has been determined that my car is not repairable. It also is going up for repossession tomorrow, so my next pressing goal is to procure a new mode of transportation.
I appreciate the help we've received so far, it has truly made a great difference, but we're still not close to the end of the road yet. Anything you could do to help spread the word would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and bless you all.
*UPDATE*
Thank you to all who have reached out with support and kind words, both through this campaign and other avenues. Because of your generosity I now have enough money to repair my car so that I can get back to work. This is a huge deal and I am immensely grateful.
With my car running I will be able to make it to at least one job that I have secured, but will not be able to complete in time to make the rent for this month so. If you haven't already, please share with anyone and everyone possible and once again I thank you all for your support you've been very kind and loving. We truly have been blessed with a great circle of friends and family.
Hello, my name is Stephen Reece (Reece to most) and I’m reaching out for help during an incredibly challenging time for my son and me.
This month has been especially hard on us. On December 3rd, we tragically lost my son’s mother, and the emotional toll has been devastating. My son, Christopher, who has a disability, has been struggling to process this loss, which has added to the emotional strain. As a single parent, it’s been difficult to balance my son’s needs with our daily responsibilities.
On top of our grief, I’ve also fallen behind on critical bills, including rent, car payments, insurance, and electricity. To make matters worse, the day before the funeral, I was in a car accident, and now my car is in need of repairs. I rely on my car as my only source of transportation and a critical tool in earning a living. The cost of parts to get the car back on the road is not huge, but adds another financial burden to an already overwhelming situation.
I’ve been running my own business for the past few years, and things were going well until recently. Unfortunately, over the past couple of months, business has slowed down significantly, and I’ve run out of funds to cover our bills and necessary car repairs to complete the jobs I have managed to secure.
I’m asking for $4,500 to help us get through this difficult time. This money will go toward catching up on bills, making sure my son and I have a safe, warm home, and repairing the car so that I can get around. It will help us make it through the next couple of months as I work to get back on track.
This is the first time I’ve ever asked for help, and it’s not easy for me to do. Any support, no matter the amount, will make an incredible difference in our lives. I truly appreciate your consideration and kindness during this incredibly tough time.
If you are unable to contribute financially, please consider sharing my story with others or helping me spread the word about my businesses. I offer services like home networking (running Cat 6 cables, etc.), building home theaters and media rooms, mounting TVs, and various handyman projects. I also repair musical instruments, including guitars, banjos, violins, and pretty much anything with strings.
If anyone in your network needs help with these services—or if you know of someone looking for work in these areas—I’d be incredibly grateful for any referrals. I’m eager to get back to work as soon as I’m able, so car repair is my first priority in the process of rebuilding the security and stability Christopher and I had before this unfortunate series of events.
Thank you for your support. It means the world to us.
