My name is Angelina Mayberry, and I created this campaign for my friend Fahmi, a young man living in Gaza who is doing everything he can to care for his family of eight under extremely difficult circumstances. I have known Fahmi for the past eight months, and I stay in regular contact with him. I can personally vouch for his situation and share updates about how the٦ funds raised here are helping his family meet their essential needs.

My Story

My name is Fahmi, and I live in Gaza. Since our home was destroyed, I have carried the responsibility of helping provide for my family of eight. My parents suffer from chronic illnesses, and I do everything I can to care for them and my five younger siblings: Haya (18), Mohammad (16), Ahmed (14), Reem (11), and Muslim (8).

Our family has endured enormous hardship. We lost our home, our belongings, and our source of income. For years, we have struggled to survive in a tent that offers little protection from the heat, cold, rain, and the dangers surrounding us. We have experienced repeated displacement and uncertainty, and there have been days when obtaining enough food and clean water has been difficult.

During the famine, I was struck in the head by shrapnel while searching for food. My father also suffered a serious hand injury when a missile struck near the place where we were sheltering. Despite everything we have experienced, I continue to do everything I can to support my family and help my younger siblings continue their education.

My family and I have lost so much, but we have not given up hope for a more stable future. We want the opportunity to live safely, have a proper home, receive the medical care we need, and rebuild our lives with dignity.

Education remains one of my greatest hopes. I am pursuing my university studies in cybersecurity and want to build a future in which I can support my family with greater stability. My sister Haya also dreams of continuing her education and hopes to become a doctor. I want all my younger siblings to have the opportunity to learn, grow, and pursue their own ambitions.

I am asking for help because the challenges my family faces are too great for one young person to overcome alone. Every contribution, no matter the size, can help us meet our basic needs and take a step toward a safer, more stable life.
