Support Reis family's recovery from the wildfire

Hi, we are raising fund to support the Reis family recover from the destruction of the wildfire that engulfed their dream retirement home.

As you all know, the wildfires across Canada and BC in particular have been especially bad this Summer. Earlier this week we became aware that our colleague and friend, Heather Reis’s primary residence near Kelowna was completely destroyed by the McDougall Creek fire.

Heather and her husband have been working on their house in Kelowna for several years, and only recently fully finished construction and fully moved in this year.

While we expect that some support may be available for her, it will certainly not come close to covering all of the losses that she and her family have experienced and the challenges they are currently facing.

Heather is one of our own, and we are asking you to dig deep and donate money to help her in her time of need. To help Heather, a fund has been set up with her permission and on her behalf to collect donations to help her through this challenging time. All funds raised, minus the deduction of GoFundMe transaction fees (2.9% + $0.30, which includes debit and credit charges) per donation, will be deposited directly to the Reis family's account at the end of the campaign.

As this tragic event took place quite recently, we ask that you respect Heather’s privacy at this time. Thank you for your time and consideration of this worthy appeal.
